Do you mean edit the wiki? Well, it's a public wiki, so you could do it yourself. Can you? Or do you mean the mod_log_sql pages?

Yes, i mean the mod_log_sql pages.
The what version to use / gentoo part is out of date and with the replacement i made gentoo users will be able to make it work.
The patch files i made are for the new version without the "-" bug and are hosted on one of my domains, but should go into your repository because bsd users might also benefit from them. |

Hi,
I've sent a bug report in our but tracker and will update the site when I have time.

Maybe it is an idea to wikify that kind of pages, because you seem to be busy all the time. |

Hi,
The issue here is that we are currently re-working our FTP repository, and if I write about it right now, then there is going to be even more breakage.
Now, you have pointed out that there is a lack in that page, I totally agree with it. But the fact is that I am really not confident in writing about it, and how to patch in Gentoo. Maybe you would be able to re-write the correct page? Or even better, make it so there would be a new patched version in Gentoo as well?
It's a nice contribution to tell me, but I guess it's not enough in that case. Help more, and you'll see that I will integrate it. By the way, I now agree that we should move some of this page to the wiki. If you write an article in the wiki, I'll happily replace the current Gentoo comments of that page by a link to the wiki. Do you think this is possible?

Of course that is possible, but where would you want it to go?
Maybe it is an idea to give the other released software also an area on the wiki? |

Thanks a lot! I took the liberty to take your patch and send it to our FTP repository (and all our mirrors).

That's fine, it is always better to host it all at your own place to prevent broken links. |

I'm getting the same error on FreeBSD.
There is a FreeBSD port, which I assume should have the latest patches (or would accept newer patches if available):
http://www.freshports.org/www/mod_log_sql2-dtc
It appears to be specifically for DTC.
Anyhow, looks like the same problem:
| Code: |
mysql> update dtc.http_accounting SET count_impressions = count_impressions+1, bytes_sent = bytes_sent+- WHERE domain='foo.com' AND vhost='cp1' AND month='08' AND year='2010';
ERROR 1064 (42000): You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'WHERE domain='foo.com' AND vhost='cp1' AND month='08' AND year='2010'' at line 1
|
Also DTC as of the latest git version, still does not define "LogSQLPreserveFile" in httpd.conf, so you end up with a ton of errors in the apache logs when this happens.
It seems like it would be a good idea to keep these files - even if there ends up being a fix for the sql logger, mysql is not exactly postgres when it comes to reliability. Being able to play back missed logs would be very helpful, even if it has to be done manually. |

Hi, I've an updated mod_log_sql2-dtc port on my private tree that corrects this problem, still didn't have the time to file a PR to get the public ports tree updated.
I can send you the port dir by PM if you want.
Regards
Fernando |

Can you send it to the maintainer of the port? Or can I? |
